Another classically traditional aerial apparatus. Aero Motion Australia stylised traditional apparatus on our 12 year research and development project exploring the aerial arts and we came up with many hybridised designs that allow the traditionally trained and contemporary trained artist flexibility with their art form development.
Our standard size static trapeze is 550 mm between the ropes, 1 inch 4 ply hawser laid rope and 2.2 metres long, painted black 26mm diameter tubular steel bar, dressed with heavy duty 1000 denier Cordura fabric and padded with synthetic fibres.
Our specialised method of attaching the rope to the bar prevents it from rolling and peeling off which can occur when you use welded thimbles to splice the ropes onto the bar. We have designed this to keep every aerialist safe while they explore tricks above the bar.
Material selection and design considerations include, the type of material for the bar steel, wood or synthetic, the size and distance between the ropes, its intended use, static, swinging, flying, dance in single, double or triple or any combination of these.
The bar diameter can be made to suit smaller hands or the more dynamic range of acts to accommodate the aerialists grip.
The rope can be cotton, or synthetic or a hybrid method of attaching aerial fabric, or slings, straps and loops.
Aesthetic features historically have included paint effects, plating, polished, inlay, engraved, knurled, machined and asymmetrical shapes.
